Stitch ‘n’ beach
Knitting and crocheting on the beach is one of life’s little pleasures. On a dull and damp June Bank Holiday weekend, I stashed the knitting needles in my bag and headed off to Silver Strand. What’s great about knitting, as opposed to reading, on the beach is that you can still join in conversations and keep an eye and ear on what’s going on around like the changing seascape, the ebb and flow of the tide, the cry of sea birds as they sketch a line across the steel grey sky with a salt-filled eye and ahem, oh yes, the children’s safety.
The end result was this retro tea cosy, the pattern for which I found on this fantastic blog: http://www.castoncastoff.co.uk/blog/2006/04/10/time-for-tea/
Time for tea anyone?
This is the first time I see the words beach and knitting in the same sentence 🙂
Lovely tea cosy. I like the color 🙂
Thank you and apologies for taking so long to reply! I just had to use what I had on hand and was happy with the ‘tweedy’ result.
Life has been getting in the way of blogging! I’m away working in the UK next week again. Ho hum.
That’s really beautiful! I wish I could knit… So glad you’re back! Sharon
