I’m obsessed with moss and lichen as you must have noticed and your photos of stone and lichen are inspiring. They also make me want to travel to Ireland, the light and the green hues seem just amazing.
Please feel free to use my images as inspiration for your artwork! I have a few more images on file too if you are interested.
WildSherkin* she shouts thro’ the howling gale …. have you battened down the hatches …where are you …
I hope you are finding time to collect driftwood and makes things and not working way too hard … 🙂
Hi Poppytump, just catching up yet again. Life keeps getting in the way of blogging. I’ve just squeezed in a silly post as a sort of ‘hello, I’m still alive’ offering until I get a chance to do something better. I’ve looked at some of your recent posts via my phone and will wait until I have time to enjoy them on a larger screen. You are so talented. Keep them coming! 🙂
Thanks for droping by my blog. Now that really is a small island. What a great place.
Drop by any time!
I thought I had already left a comment ! I love all the shaggy moss/ lichens which cling on… definitely they stand the test of WSherkins weather 🙂
Me too..the pale greeny grey lichen hues are gorgeous.
Great photos of these rough, rugged, lichen-covered stones.
Thank you, Mary. I have just been visting your blog and enjoyed your lovely images and words.
Love the pictures of the (dry?) stone walls and thanks for dropping by my blog and ticking the like box. 🙂
Hi Judith,
Thank you too for visiting! Dry stone construction is a traditional method of building walls without using cement or mortar. I’ve added a link within the post if you or anyone else is interested in reading more about this.
Building walls. Such a theme, and your pictures are excellent.
Thank you, Marylin. Ailsa from http://wheresmybackback.com comes up with some really inspirational travel themes and I’ve been waiting for a reason to post these pictures!
It’s amazing how those walls have stood the test of time!
They really were amazing craftsmen.
Thank you – I couldn’t decide which one to use so I decided to put them all in!
😉
Oh dear…comes with the territory! I’ve just been catching up with your posts and look forward to more. 🙂
Perfect – what a lovely image!
Just realized there are multiple images – love the lichen!
Please scroll up for my reply. It’s definitely time to say night night as I am all over the place! 🙂
Your stone wall photos are amazing, particularly those that show the moss. They remind me of the flat tire we got on our rented car. The narrow roads over there are unforgiving.
Hi, my comment above was my reply to you but I typed in the wrong place..oops!
