Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Lines
I spotted this challenge on Poppytump’s recent post. If Poppytump is ‘Johnny come lately’ then I am ‘Johnny way past his sell-by date’. Cee’s challenge is ‘Lines’ and although I am sure that the deadline has come and gone, I’d like to share this picture of Trá Bán, Sherkin Island, taken on a very cold and windy Easter Monday. The interesting thing about these lines is that they create an optical illusion of hillocks or humps but they were just absolutely flat, dark marks in the sand.
With thanks to Cee for her inspiring challenges: http://www.ceephotography.com/2013/03/27/cees-fun-foto-challenge-lines/
I felt like running down that wide open expanse of beach. Children could play “Follow the lines”…..but you said it was icy cold in the wind…..winter beaches are fascinating.
There’s something very special about an empty, wind-swept beach…far from the madding crowds and all that! 🙂
great photo, and it even looks warm…though I know it wasn’t
Thanks Joan, there was a really bitterly cold easterly wind blowing right into my face at the time! I didn’t stay too long on the beach!
Mother Nature has swept it with her wind broom .. what a gorgeous 5* white sand beach it is WS .
I bet your stash of beachcombing driftwood is out of sight so I won’t be upset in case you have found another ‘Stairway to Heaven ‘ Lol
ps thank you for the mention (hug)
The stash is pathetically small! I have had an idea about the steps though…I was thinking of mounting them onto a wall and using them as a bookcase. The Island Husband was entirely underwhelmed however and full of practical concerns about books falling off the ends….
hmm he might be right … suppose that is the wrong answer tho !
Ah now, I need you both to suspend your disbelief and imagine over-sized books resting against the side ropes.
These lines are just so fun. Great shot!
Thanks Cee! I’ll try to be on time in future. The interesting thing about these lines is that they create an optical illusion of hillocks or humps but they were just absolutely flat, dark marks in the sand. I probably should have said that in the post. 🙂
