Travel Theme: Light
It changes on a sixpence – the weather, I mean. We get four seasons in one minute in this part of the world. Blink, and you’ve missed summer. So this picture…could that be the hand of God reaching out or just another cloud going by? Taken on Derrynane Beach, Kenmare, Co. Kerry.
With thanks to Ailsa for another great travel theme: http://wheresmybackpack.com/2013/04/26/travel-theme-light/

I love this ominous scene; especially the little sliver of light that managed to pierce through the dark clouds to reflect on the sand. It reminds us that in every dark moment there is also some light, even if it is just a little sliver.
That’s a lovely thought, Andelieya, and we should all try to keep it in mind.

I can almost see that light shifting across the sands and water there P 🙂
A mood changing light ….
It was a breath-taking place. I have a whole series of photos from that day and have done a pastel of one of them. BTW, I am working on your lovely photo but I found the drawing really difficult! It took three attempts and it’s still not right but I’ll start with the pastels and see if it improves. Everyone in my art class was very impressed with the lovely photo and wanted to know if I had taken it so I explained…:)
Wouldn’t it be fun if we all attempted the same picture sometime, like your lovely painted green church gate, and then synchronised our posts – a global art chain!
Look foward to some more then P . Sorry my picture has given you problems Lol …
I should love to have a go at some sort of joined up venture !
Will you host it P ?? Go on have a think about it 😉
Hello!! Nice blog I clicked on the link you left at Jill 🙂
Thank you! I’ll pop in to see your blog later! 🙂
You should spend more time on Sherkin, the sun is shining – Very moody shot – hope you are feeling sunshine inside
Tell me about it! Oh to be a full-time islander. 🙂
I love your evocative photo…..clouds are great representations of things…
Thank you. They are indeed and it’s great that the things are always in the eye of the beholder!

I have stood leaning into the wind a it roars in from the Atlantic across the wid beach of Glenbie on the Ring of Kerry. It is nearly the most westerly point of Europe, next stop America. But why would you go? That great environment is all anyone could need.
Thanks Bill, what’s lovely is the isolation too. I have to say though that Amercia is calling me. When I see some of the other bloggers’ pictures, like the wild coast of Oregon, I feel like jumping on a plane and going there!
Amazing clouds. Beautiful!
Thank you:)
Derrynane…Lamb’s Head, camped there when young for years…and then on to Waterville….Best places ever!
It was my first time there… Loved it!
😉 Best place in Ireland…west Cork or Kerry!
