Stitch ‘n’ Beach (2)
Now that I’m on Sherkin Island for two weeks, I am doing one of my favourite things. I’ve had this red wool for too long now so I have started to crochet a cushion cover. I’m making it up as I go along…unlike the knitting pattern for the little red booties below which came from a lovely book called ’50 baby booties to knit’ by Zoe Mellor.
Hello P ๐ Oh I do love your alternative beach shots … Raspberry bootees *quite quite delicious* I’m imagining popping 20 little pinkies inside ๐
Hope you are enjoying your Sherkin Summer days and wishing for you that they don’t whizz by too quickly !
Hi P! Yes, it whizzed by but we had a lovely time. Great to see you back. WordPress just hasn’t been the same without you. Have I said that already?! ๐
I love the idea of crocheting or knitting at the beach! What a beautiful red color and photo!
Hi Andelieya,
Here I am – better late than never – coming back to you! Thanks for your comment. Hope I’ll see evidence of you knitting on the beach sometime! ๐
๐ I am working on a knitting project right now (socks), but have not done so at the beach yet. It has been way too hot here. But I could see myself knitting at the beach in cooler weather.
What a gorgeous photo, I love the surprise and contrast of the unexpected knitting resting on the sand….and what a beautiful beach…love the soft light:-)
Thank you! I have seen your recent posts on the Reader but because I am currently using a dongle (with very slow broadband), it hasn’t been possible to click into your posts so I look forward to catching up. ๐
Lovely rich colour yarn:-)
I usually go for greens and blues so it makes a nice change. ๐
Enjoy your weeks on Sherkin. I am sure it will be a great break for creativity.
Thanks Deb, I’ll try to make the most of it! ๐
looks lovely. I have also started to knit, but scarves and hats for family in Norway…and maybe something simple like that for me also!
Hi Joan, I’m better at knitting in straight lines (!) but the pattern for the booties was very easy as they were all done in one piece and then sewn up at the back and with a seam under the foot. P
that’s me too…straight lines!
That looks like such a relaxing way to spend the day! And those booties are super cute ๐
Thank you…and there are so many more booties to make! Each one is nicer than the next. ๐
