Shoot it, sketch it
When Frances from Island Threads posted this beautiful picture of The Clisham on the Isle of Harris in the Western Isles of Scotland, I asked her permission to paint it. I loved its muted, winter tones…but I am smiling now as I write that. Why? Because it is only now that I look again at the original photograph taken by Frances (from a bus, I believe) that I can see how far I have deviated from that lovely winter palette! So here is my ‘interpretation’ of a Scottish winter scene…and I seem to have also taken some liberties with the geology. Ah well.
