The Meadow
Our Sherkin Island garden has once again turned into a wild flower meadow. Much to our delight, we discovered two wild orchids – a gift from nature. Isn’t it lovely when a plant appears from out of the blue? (Or green).
Today is a wet and windy bank holiday Monday in Ireland. With a gale force 7 warning in place, we had little choice but to pack up our things and head for the mainland yesterday. And what a beautiful, blustery, sunny day it was, with sea horses frosting the blue green sea and the island’s flora adding vivid splashes of colour. There’s lot to show and tell but I will leave you for now with this picture of Trá Bán.
So beautiful!
How lovely! There is nothing quite like a wildflower meadow, and experienced on a blustery sunny day such as you describe fills you full of joy!
What a nice surprise, popping out of the green like that!
Oh and Trá Bán…so lovely. We’ll have to add it to the must-see when I go visit, OK? 😉
Oh definitely Dale. I will pick you up from the ferry and we will take a stroll to Trá Bán first, then drop into the little house and take it from there.
Woot! It WILL happen one day!
Wonderful picture of the orchid – yes, the things that just ‘happen’ are usually the best.
